Smith Excavation was formed from a shared passion between father and son, Tom and TJ Smith. What began as a small weekend pastime in the 90s grew into a highly trusted excavation team serving the Pittsburgh area.
The Start of Smith Excavation
From a young age, TJ had a dream to have an excavation business. He loved sitting on his father’s lap and working the construction equipment from the beginning. TJ bought his first pieces of equipment in 2012. A few years later, the father-and-son duo made it official and launched Smith Excavation in 2017.
